A creative Photoshop project where I reimagined an Elvive shampoo ad from scratch. The most challenging parts were achieving realistic reflections, shadows, and light interactions, ensuring a natural and polished look. This design pushed my manipulation skills, taking [X hours] to perfect every detail.
Project Description
This project was a creative exploration where I reimagined an Elvive shampoo advertisement purely from my own vision, without any client request. Using Adobe Photoshop, I focused on advanced photo manipulation, lighting, and composition techniques to bring the concept to life.
The most challenging aspects were achieving realistic reflections and shadows, ensuring the bottle and surrounding elements felt naturally integrated within the scene. The precision required for light interaction, material texture adjustments, and depth perception made this a demanding yet rewarding process.
This piece took me [19 hours] to complete, pushing my Photoshop skills to new heights as I meticulously fine-tuned every detail to create a polished and high-impact visual.
The story
The idea for the Elvive Shampoo Manipulation Design came to me one evening when I was reflecting on how beauty product advertisements blend realism and creativity. I wanted to challenge myself by creating a high-end, visually striking shampoo ad, capturing the essence of luxury and elegance associated with brands like Elvive. The image in my mind was of a shampoo bottle surrounded by water droplets and soft lighting, all balanced with perfect reflections and shadows.
I began by sourcing a high-quality image of the Elvive bottle and isolated it, focusing on the key elements that would make it stand out. The first challenge was achieving the perfect reflections on the bottle’s glossy surface. I spent hours tweaking the light source to ensure it interacted with the bottle naturally, creating realistic highlights and reflections. This part required patience and a keen eye for detail to ensure the product looked believable.
Once the reflections were set, I worked on the shadows. Creating the right depth and balance between light and dark areas was essential for the design’s realism. The shadows had to complement the light source, so I spent time adjusting their softness and intensity. I also added background elements and textures, layering them carefully to build an atmosphere that complemented the product without distracting from the main focus.
After refining every detail—from the lighting and reflections to the water droplets and background textures—I stepped back to assess the final result. The piece felt polished and sophisticated, just as I had envisioned. This project was not only a test of my manipulation skills but also a creative journey, pushing me to explore new techniques and bring a simple product ad to life with a fresh perspective.
